How do I activate vein mining?
Hold down your activation key (default is a configurable keybind) or sneak while looking at a valid ore block, tree, or stone cluster. You'll see a visual outline box appear around all connected blocks that will break when you swing.
Why isn't vein mining working on my pickaxe?
Make sure you're looking directly at a valid block type—the mod works on ore deposits, tree trunks, and large stone groups by default. If you're trying to mine a modded block, check that it's tagged correctly in the mod's configuration or that the mod author has added support for it.
Can I use vein mining on blocks from other mods?
Yes, the mod automatically recognizes blocks from other mods if they use standard block tags for ores, logs, and stone. If a specific mod's blocks aren't working, you may need to add them manually through the config file.
What tunnel shapes can I dig?
You can select from preset digging shapes like 3×3 tunnels, 2×1 shafts, and staircases through the keybind settings menu. Each shape lets you carve out stone or ore in a specific pattern with a single swing.
How do I stop my tools from breaking?
The mod automatically halts vein mining when your tool's durability drops to one, protecting it from breaking. You'll need to repair or replace your tool before you can use vein mining again.
Does vein mining cost hunger?
Yes, breaking multiple blocks at once drains hunger faster than normal mining. You can adjust the hunger cost in the config screen to match your playstyle, or disable it entirely if you prefer.
Can I set a limit on how many blocks vein mining breaks at once?
Yes, the config screen lets you set a maximum block count limit so vein mining stops after breaking a certain number of blocks. This prevents accidentally clearing massive ore veins in one swing.
Where do broken blocks and items go?
All mined items go directly into your inventory instead of dropping on the ground, so you don't lose anything or have to chase scattered drops.
Does vein mining work on trees?
Yes, the mod breaks entire tree trunks and connected wood blocks in a single swing, making tree farming much faster. Leaves are not included by default.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Breaking many blocks at once can impact performance on lower-end systems, but you can reduce lag by lowering the block count limit in the config or using smaller tunnel shapes.
