Make Rain and Storms Look More Realistic
Enable Weather-Reactive Lighting
Principal automatically darkens the sky and adjusts lighting when it rains. Ensure weather effects are enabled in your shader settings—look for "Weather Effects" or "Rain Lighting" toggles.
Adjust Rain Brightness and Darkness
Find sliders for "Storm Darkness" or "Rain Brightness Reduction." Increasing storm darkness makes rainy weather feel more dramatic and moody. Adjust until rain feels appropriately gloomy without making the world unplayable.
Control Water and Wet Block Effects
Look for "Wet Surface Reflections" or "Rain Puddles" settings. These make blocks appear wetter during rain, with reflective surfaces that bounce light realistically. Increase intensity for more obvious wet effects.
Fine-Tune Cloud Behavior During Storms
Storm clouds often become denser and darker. Check if there are separate "Storm Cloud Density" or "Weather Cloud Settings" to control how dramatically clouds change during rain.
Observe Weather Changes
Use commands like /weather rain to trigger rain and see your adjustments in real-time. Fly to different heights and angles to see how lighting and reflections change across your landscape.
