Pottery Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make my first pot?
Craft a pot using clay blocks and a white dye (or any dye of your choice) according to the crafting recipe shown in the mod wiki. Once crafted, you can place it in the world as a decorative block.
Can I change a pot's color after I've made it?
Yes, right-click an already-placed pot with any dye to recolor it instantly. You can change colors as many times as you want.
How do I remove the color from a pot?
Right-click the pot on a cauldron filled with water to wash off the dye and return it to its uncolored state.
What are sherds and how do I use them?
Sherds are decorative patterns you can apply to pots. Right-click a pot with a sherd in your hand to add the pattern to that pot.
How many different pots are in this mod?
There are 85 total pots: five different variants, each available in seventeen different colors (including the uncolored version).
Can I use different dyes in the crafting recipe?
Yes, the crafting recipe shows white dye, but you can substitute any in-game dye color to craft pots in different colors from the start.
Do pots have any function besides decoration?
Pots are purely decorative blocks added by this mod and do not have storage or other functional properties.
Can I combine multiple sherds on one pot?
The mod allows you to add patterns to pots using sherds, though the exact mechanics of layering multiple patterns depend on how the mod handles successive applications.
What's the difference between the five pot variants?
The mod includes five different pot shapes or styles; refer to the screenshots in the wiki to see the visual differences between each variant.
Do pots work with other mods?
Pottery Mod adds standard decorative blocks that should work alongside most other mods, though specific compatibility depends on your mod setup.
