Link Your First Overworld-Nether Portal Pair

Prepare Your Portals

Build a complete nether portal in the Overworld. Travel through it to the Nether and build a second portal nearby. Make sure both portals are fully constructed and functional before proceeding.

Use the Portal Linking Compass

1. Hold the Portal Linking Compass in your hand

2. Right-click on a portal block of your Overworld portal

3. The compass will now be linked to that portal's location

4. Travel through the portal to the Nether

5. The compass needle will point toward the correct coordinates in the Nether dimension where you should build your linked portal

6. Follow the compass needle and build your second portal at that location

Verify the Link

Once both portals are built at the compass-indicated locations, enter one portal. You should exit from the other portal in the opposite dimension. If the link works correctly, you've successfully created a dimension-linked portal pair without manually calculating coordinates.
