Avoid Common Portal Linking Mistakes

Coordinate Calculation Errors

The main advantage of this mod is avoiding manual math. Don't try to calculate coordinates yourself—trust the compass instead. The 1:8 dimension ratio is easy to get wrong, and the compass handles it automatically.

Portal Placement Issues

• Build your destination portal *exactly* where the compass points, not nearby
• Ensure both portals are fully constructed with all obsidian blocks in place
• Don't link the compass to an incomplete or broken portal
• Right-click on an actual portal block, not just obsidian

Dimension Confusion

Remember: link the compass in one dimension, then travel to the other dimension to follow it. Don't stay in the same dimension—the compass points to the *opposite* dimension's coordinates. If you're confused about which dimension you're in, check your coordinates or look for environmental clues (Nether has lava and netherrack; Overworld has grass and trees).
