How to Resolve Smelting, Blasting, Smoking and Campfire Conflicts

Polymorph handles more than the crafting table. Anywhere a single input can produce multiple outputs — furnace, blast furnace, smoker, and campfire — the same selector button appears near the output slot once you insert an item that has competing recipes.

Step by Step

1. Put your raw material into the input slot and add fuel if the block needs it.

3. Click the button above the output slot to open the list of possible results.

4. Select the output you want. The progress bar continues and the chosen item appears in the output slot.

5. Collect the result.

Persistence Matters Here

Unlike the crafting table, your smelting choice is saved to the block itself. That means if you walk away, unload the chunk, or quit and reload the world, the furnace still remembers which output you selected. You do not need to re-pick every session.

This is especially useful for machines you leave running unattended — set the output once and the block keeps producing the variant you actually need instead of silently switching to another mod's version.
