How do I open the chat widget in my inventory?
Open your inventory screen normally, then press Tab to focus the text box. The chat widget should appear below your storage slots (or at your custom position if you've adjusted the offsets).
Can I move the chat widget to a different part of my screen?
Yes, use the X Offset and Y Offset settings in the mod configuration to adjust the horizontal and vertical position of the text box. You can also enable "Anchor Below Inventory" to lock it directly beneath your item slots.
Do I have to close my inventory to send a message?
No, that's the whole point of this mod. Type your message into the widget while your inventory is open, then press Enter to send it without closing your bag.
How do I run commands from the chat widget?
Type your command (starting with /) into the text box while your inventory is open, then press Enter. The command will execute just as if you'd typed it in the regular chat.
What if the chat widget isn't showing up?
Check that "Enable InvChat" is turned on in your configuration settings. If it's enabled but still not visible, try resetting your X and Y Offset values to default.
Can I use the chat widget while crafting?
Yes, the widget works on any inventory screen, including crafting tables and other storage menus. You can chat or run commands without closing the interface.
Does this mod work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, messages and commands sent through the widget go to the server just like regular chat, so it works on any multiplayer server or single-player world.
Can I disable the chat widget temporarily without changing my settings?
You can toggle the widget on or off using the "Enable InvChat" option in your configuration. Disabling it won't erase your offset settings.
What happens if my text box overlaps with my inventory items?
Adjust the X Offset and Y Offset values to reposition the widget so it doesn't cover your storage slots. You can also enable "Anchor Below Inventory" for automatic placement.
Does using the chat widget affect my game performance?
No, the mod is lightweight and only adds a text input field to your inventory screen. It shouldn't cause any noticeable performance impact.
