PlunderPixel’s Reimagined Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open your Video Settings in-game, select Shaders, and find PlunderPixel's Reimagined in the list. Click it to activate, then close settings to apply the changes.
Why does my world look too dark or too bright?
Open Shader Options (usually accessible from Video Settings) and adjust the brightness or exposure slider to match your preference. You can also fine-tune shadow intensity separately if shadows feel too harsh.
Can I customize how shadows look?
Yes—open Shader Options and look for shadow-related settings like shadow intensity, shadow distance, or shadow softness. Adjusting these lets you control how dark and sharp shadows appear throughout your world.
The water looks weird or too reflective—how do I fix it?
Access Shader Options and find water-related settings. You can adjust water clarity, reflection strength, and wave intensity to make water look more natural for your preference.
Does this shader work with other mods?
This shader is compatible with most mods, but mods that heavily modify rendering (like certain lighting or dimension mods) may conflict. Test in-game to check compatibility with your specific mod list.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing this—what can I do?
Open Shader Options and lower shadow distance, shadow quality, or reflection quality. You can also reduce render distance in Video Settings, or disable advanced lighting features if available in the shader options.
Why do sunrise and sunset colors look different than before?
This shader intentionally repaints sky colors during dawn and dusk for a more dramatic effect. If you want to adjust these colors, check Shader Options for sky or atmosphere customization settings.
Does this work in the Nether and End?
Yes, the shader applies to all dimensions, but the Nether's lava and the End's unique lighting may look different than the Overworld due to how those dimensions emit light.
Can I use this shader with Optifine or Sodium?
This shader requires a compatible shader loader like Iris (works with Sodium) or the default Minecraft shader system. Check your loader's compatibility before installing.
How do I reset shader settings back to default?
Open Shader Options and look for a Reset or Default button, or delete the shader's configuration file from your .minecraft folder and restart the game to restore original settings.
