How to Configure Player Head Drop Chances in Players Drop Heads Mod

Finding the Config File

After installing the mod, launch Minecraft once so the mod generates its config file. Navigate to your Minecraft instance folder, then open config/ and look for the Players Drop Heads config file. This is where you control how often heads drop.

Setting Drop Chances Per Death Type

Open the config file with any text editor. You will see three separate chance values:

  • PvP kills — controls head drops when one player kills another in combat.
  • Charged creeper kills — controls head drops when a charged creeper kills a player.
  • All other deaths — controls head drops from any other cause (fall damage, lava, mobs, etc.).

Each value is a decimal between 0.0 and 1.0. A value of 1.0 means the head always drops. A value of 0.5 means a 50% chance. A value of 0.0 means the head never drops for that category.

Set each value to whatever you want, save the file, and restart Minecraft (or reload the config if the mod supports it) for changes to take effect. If you want heads only from PvP, set the other two categories to 0.0 and leave PvP at 1.0. If you want heads to be rare, lower all three values.
