What Happens When You're Downed and How to Survive the Bleed-Out
You Can't Move or Fight
When your health reaches zero with PlayerRevive installed, you don't respawn — you collapse and start bleeding out. While downed you cannot walk, jump, attack, or use items. Your screen shows the bleed-out state and a timer counting down. You are essentially a sitting target until a teammate reaches you.
What You Can Still Do
You're not completely helpless. You can still communicate — use voice chat or type in chat to guide rescuers to your position with coordinates. Watch your surroundings and warn your teammate about mobs closing in. If you have a way to mark your location (a waypoint, a torch you dropped earlier), mention it.
If Nobody Comes
When the timer expires with no revive, the death goes through as normal: you hit the respawn screen and your inventory drops where you fell. That means your rescuer now has to fight through whatever killed you to recover your stuff — so a failed rescue is doubly costly.
Preparing Ahead
- Travel in pairs in dangerous biomes and caves.
- Share coordinates before you go down, not after.
- Keep a spare set of gear at base in case recovery goes wrong.
- Don't wander solo into boss fights or deep caves if you rely on revives.
