Player Pronouns Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I set my pronouns for the first time?
Use the `/pronouns set` command followed by your pronouns (e.g., `/pronouns set he/him`). Your pronouns will then appear in chat and above your nameplate for other players to see.
Can I use pronouns other than he/him, she/her, or they/them?
Yes, the mod supports custom pronouns. Enter any pronoun format you prefer in the `/pronouns set` command, and it will display exactly as you've written it.
Where do pronouns show up in the game?
Pronouns display in three places: next to player names in chat messages, above player nameplates when you look at them, and in the output of certain commands like `/list`.
How do I see another player's pronouns?
Hover over a player's nameplate to see their pronouns displayed above their name, or use the `/pronouns get ` command to check their pronouns in chat.
Can I hide my pronouns from other players?
Use `/pronouns clear` to remove your pronouns from display. You can set them again anytime with `/pronouns set`.
Do pronouns show up in single-player mode?
No, pronouns only display in multiplayer on servers or LAN worlds where other players are present to see them.
Can I customize how pronouns look (color, position, etc.)?
Check the Customize Pronoun Display Settings guide for options to adjust formatting, colors, and where pronouns appear relative to your nameplate.
My pronouns aren't showing up. What should I do?
First, verify you've set pronouns with `/pronouns set` and check that the mod is enabled. If pronouns still don't appear, see the Troubleshoot Pronouns Not Showing guide for common fixes.
Does this mod work with other mods that modify chat or nameplates?
The mod is generally compatible with most mods, but conflicts can occur with mods that heavily modify chat formatting or nameplate rendering. Test compatibility on your server or check mod documentation if issues arise.
Can server admins disable or restrict pronouns?
Yes, server administrators can configure pronoun settings in the mod's config file to allow, restrict, or disable pronoun display server-wide.
