Player Particles Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I apply a particle effect to myself?
Use the command `/playerparticles ` where ` ` is the particle type you want (like `enchant` or `smoke`) and ` ` is either `above`, `around`, or `below`. For example: `/playerparticles enchant above` will show enchantment table particles above your head.
What particle types can I use?
You can use most particles in the game, including potion effects, enchantment particles, smoke, flame, and many others. Check the guide "Find and Use Different Particle Types" for a full list of available particles and their names.
Can I have multiple particle effects at once?
Yes, you have 3 particle slots available: `above`, `around`, and `below`. You can set a different particle effect in each slot to display them simultaneously.
How do I remove a particle effect?
Use `/playerparticles reset ` to clear a specific slot, or `/playerparticles reset` with no slot specified to clear all three slots at once.
How do I turn off my particles without removing them?
Use `/playerparticles off` to hide your particles temporarily, then use `/playerparticles on` to show them again. Your particle settings will be saved.
Player particles are making the game lag. What can I do?
Use `/playerparticles disable-all` to stop rendering all player particles (yours and others') on your client. This won't affect what other players see. You can re-enable them anytime with `/playerparticles enable-all`.
Do other players see my particle effects?
Yes, other players with the mod installed will see your particle effects by default. They can disable rendering all player particles with `/playerparticles disable-all` if they choose.
Can I use particles that require extra parameters?
Some particles need additional parameters (like color or size). The command syntax `/playerparticles ` includes an optional parameter field—check the guide "Apply Your First Particle Effect" for examples of particles that need extra data.
What happens if I use an invalid particle name?
The command will likely fail or not apply any effect. Make sure you're using the correct particle name—refer to the particle types guide if you're unsure of the exact spelling.
Can I change particle effects on other players?
No, you can only set particle effects on your own player. Other players must use the commands themselves to apply particles to their character.
