Set Up a Tournament Server with Permanent Player Removal
Lock Your Server and Configure Death Kicks
To run a tournament where eliminated players cannot rejoin, combine server settings with this mod's configuration.
1. Lock your server before the tournament starts by setting the player list to whitelist-only in your server properties.
2. Open the mod config file at .minecraft/config and locate the Player Death Kick Mod configuration.
3. Ensure exemptAdminPlayers is set to false if you want all players, including admins, removed on death. Set it to true if tournament organizers should survive elimination.
4. Set broadcastKickToServer to true so remaining players see who has been eliminated.
5. Customize disconnectMessage to something tournament-appropriate, like "Tournament over for you! Final placement: %death%"
6. Save the config and restart your server.
Verify the Setup
Test with a non-essential player account: have them die and confirm they're kicked and cannot rejoin. This ensures your tournament rules work as intended before competitors join.
