Switch Between Direct and Indirect Piston Modes

Understanding Direct vs. Indirect Mode

When there's an air gap between a piston and the nearest block, the mod can show you two different scenarios.

Direct Mode shows what happens if the piston pushes the nearest solid block directly in front of it.

Indirect Mode simulates the piston interacting with the next block further away, skipping over the empty space.

How to Switch Modes

1. Right-click the piston base with an empty hand to see the initial preview

2. If there's an air gap, right-click the piston again

3. The display will switch to show the alternative scenario

4. Continue clicking to toggle between modes

This feature is invaluable when designing piston doors, flying machines, or other contraptions where spacing matters. You can verify both possibilities before committing to your build's layout.
