Pistorder Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using Pistorder Mod?
Simply right-click any piston base with an empty hand to activate the preview overlay. The mod will immediately show you what blocks the piston will push, in what order, and whether it will succeed or fail.
What does the overlay show me?
The overlay displays the sequence of blocks being pushed, how many blocks will move (up to 128), and whether the piston will succeed or fail. If the piston fails due to an immovable block, it also shows which blocks would have been destroyed.
How do I switch between direct and indirect piston modes?
If there's an air gap between the piston and the nearest block, right-click the piston again to toggle indirect mode, which simulates the piston pushing the nearest block across the gap instead of pushing nothing.
How do I turn off the preview overlay?
Click the piston again to hide the visual overlay, or press the default hotkey (P) to clear all displays on screen at once.
Can the mod preview pistons that will fail?
Yes, the mod shows what would happen even if the piston fails due to an immovable block, though the results might be slightly inaccurate in those edge cases.
Do I need to hold a specific item to use the mod?
No, you must have an empty hand to right-click and activate the preview. If you're holding any item, the preview won't work.
Can I preview sticky pistons the same way?
Yes, right-click sticky piston bases with an empty hand just like regular pistons to see what they will pull or push when activated.
Does the mod work with piston chains and multi-piston setups?
The mod previews each piston individually when you click it, so you can check each piston in a chain separately to plan complex redstone contraptions.
What if the preview looks wrong or doesn't match what actually happens?
The mod is most accurate for successful piston pushes; if a piston fails due to an immovable block, the preview may be slightly off. Try clicking again or checking for hidden blocks like bedrock or obsidian.
Does Pistorder Mod affect performance or lag?
The mod only generates previews when you manually right-click a piston, so it has minimal performance impact and won't cause lag during normal gameplay.
