Retrieving Energy From Generators and Batteries With PipezRetriever

Pulling Power Instead of Pushing It

Energy pipes in Pipez usually push power from a source to a consumer. Retrieve mode flips that: the pipe actively pulls energy out of a connected generator, battery, or energy storage block and sends it along the network. This is useful when you want a central cable to gather power from many scattered generators.

Configuring an Energy Retrieve Pipe

1. Place an energy pipe so it touches the generator or battery you want to drain.

2. Right-click the pipe to open the configuration screen.

3. Set the mode to Retrieve.

4. Run the pipe network to your machines or energy storage.

5. On the destination side, make sure the pipe is set to insert energy into the target block.

Getting Reliable Throughput

  • Energy transfer is limited by the pipe's configured rate; if your generators produce more than one pipe can move, add more retrieve pipes on different faces of the same block.
  • Retrieve mode works on any block that exposes an energy capability, including most tech mod machines.
  • If a generator refuses to be drained, check whether it has an internal buffer that only fills under certain conditions, or whether it is disabled by a redstone signal.
  • Combine several retrieve pipes feeding into one storage block to build a simple power bus without extra cables.
