Chat-Based Pings

If you want to ping a block for players who may not have the mod installed, or to create a permanent record in chat, you can send pings through the chat system. Type a message that includes ping information—the exact syntax depends on your mod version, but typically involves coordinates or block descriptions.

Who Can See Chat Pings

Unlike in-world pings that only appear to nearby modded players, chat pings are visible to everyone in the server or world, regardless of whether they have the mod. This makes them useful for:

• Communicating with players who haven't installed the mod
• Leaving messages for teammates who log in later
• Marking important locations permanently

Best Practices

Use in-world pings for quick, real-time coordination during active gameplay. Reserve chat pings for important landmarks, meeting points, or when you need to ensure everyone—modded or not—receives the message.
