How to Find and Ambush a Pillager Caravan

Locating a Caravan

Pillager Caravans spawn naturally across your world as they travel through different biomes. Listen for hostile mob sounds or watch for movement on the horizon during exploration. Caravans follow predictable paths across terrain, so they're easier to spot in open biomes like plains or deserts than in forests.

Preparing Your Ambush

Once you've spotted a caravan, position yourself ahead of their path. Caravans move slowly, giving you time to set up. Consider your equipment—larger groups with ravagers require better armor and weapons. Use terrain to your advantage: hills, water, or narrow passages can slow them down.

Executing the Attack

Focus on pillagers and vindicators first, as they deal the most damage. The pack animals (llamas, horses, or mules depending on biome) carry the cargo but won't fight back. Once guards are eliminated, loot the animals' inventories for biome-specific treasure. Be aware that major spawns are rarer and trigger longer cooldowns before the next caravan appears.
