Understand What Blocks Are Now Mineable

What This Data Pack Changes

The Pickaxe Effective Reinforced Deepslate data pack modifies the game's pickaxe mineable tag to include reinforced deepslate. This is the only block affected by this data pack.

Why This Matters

Reinforced deepslate is a block that normally cannot be broken by pickaxes in vanilla Minecraft. By adding it to the pickaxe mineable tag, the data pack allows pickaxes to interact with and break this block properly, rather than having mining attempts fail.

How Tags Work

Minecraft uses tags to group blocks by their properties. The pickaxe mineable tag tells the game which blocks can be effectively mined with a pickaxe. When a block is in this tag, pickaxes will:

  • Break the block at normal speed
  • Yield the block's normal drops
  • Show proper mining animations

Compatibility

This change is purely additive — it doesn't remove reinforced deepslate from any other tags or affect how other tools interact with it. Other tools can still mine reinforced deepslate as they normally would. The data pack simply expands pickaxe functionality.
