Troubleshoot Pickaxe Mining Issues with Reinforced Deepslate
Pickaxe Isn't Breaking Reinforced Deepslate
If your pickaxe isn't working on reinforced deepslate:
1. Verify the data pack is installed — check your world's data pack list in world settings
2. Ensure the data pack is enabled — it must be active for the current world
3. Restart your world — sometimes changes require a reload to take effect
4. Check for conflicting data packs — other packs might override this one's changes
Mining Is Too Slow
If reinforced deepslate breaks very slowly:
- Use a higher-tier pickaxe — wooden and stone pickaxes are significantly slower
- Add Efficiency enchantments — Efficiency V is ideal
- Apply Haste effects — use a beacon or drink Haste potions
- Ensure your pickaxe isn't damaged — repair it before mining
Drops Aren't Appearing
If blocks break but don't drop items:
- Check your inventory space — full inventories prevent item pickup
- Verify you're not in Creative mode — Creative mode doesn't produce drops
- Ensure mobs haven't picked up the drops — mine in well-lit areas
If problems persist, verify the data pack is the correct version for your Minecraft installation.
