Trigger Chain Reactions to Clear Large Forest Areas
Setting Up Your Forest Clearing
Chain reactions are the fastest way to harvest multiple trees at once. Space matters—trees that are close together will knock each other down like dominoes when the first one falls.
How to Start a Chain Reaction
1. Identify a cluster of trees standing near each other
2. Break the bottom log of the tallest or most centrally-positioned tree
3. Step back immediately and watch the tree tip over
4. As it falls, its trunk and branches will collide with nearby trees, causing them to fall as well
5. Each falling tree can trigger additional trees to topple, creating a cascading effect
6. Collect all dropped logs and saplings once the chain reaction settles
Tips for Maximum Efficiency
Natural forests work best since trees grow close together. Avoid starting your cut in a tree at the forest edge—aim for interior trees that have more neighbors to knock down. The heavier the falling tree, the more force it carries into adjacent trees, so larger jungle or dark oak trees create more dramatic chain reactions than smaller varieties.
