Safely Fell Trees Near Your Base or Structures

Planning Your Cut Direction

Trees fall in a specific direction based on physics and the point where you break the trunk. Before cutting, observe the tree's lean and predict where it will land. This prevents accidental damage to nearby buildings, farms, or other structures.

Safe Harvesting Steps

1. Walk around the tree and identify which direction it will naturally tip

2. Ensure the landing zone is clear of valuable blocks or structures

3. If the tree would fall toward your base, consider cutting a different tree instead

4. Break the bottom log and immediately move to a safe distance

5. Watch the fall animation to confirm it lands safely

6. Collect items once the tree is fully settled

Working in Tight Spaces

In crowded areas, fell trees one at a time and collect items before cutting the next. This prevents item piles from overlapping and makes cleanup easier. If you're unsure about a tree's fall direction, test it with a single tree first before attempting multiple cuts in the same area. Always leave yourself an escape route in case a tree falls unexpectedly.
