Allow Yourself to Damage Your Own Pet

Enable Owner Damage

By default, Pet Protect Mod prevents you from damaging your own pets. If you need to be able to harm your pet (for testing, training, or other purposes), you can enable this.

1. Open config/petprotect.json

2. Find the allow_owner_damage setting

3. Change it to true

4. Save and restart your game

Important Considerations

Enabling this setting means:

  • You can now damage your own pets with weapons, potions, or environmental hazards
  • Your pet will not have protection from your attacks
  • This is permanent while enabled—be careful not to accidentally kill your pet
  • Other players still cannot damage your pet (unless their own config allows it)

This option is rarely needed in normal gameplay. Only enable it if you have a specific reason, such as testing pet behavior or managing pet health in unusual circumstances.
