Enable or Disable Naming for Specific Mob Types

Access the Configuration File

Locate your mod's config folder (usually config/petnamesmod.toml or similar). Open it with any text editor.

Toggle Individual Mob Types

Inside the config file, you'll find a section listing each supported mob type: Wolves, Horses, Cats, Donkeys, and Llamas. Each has a boolean setting (true/false or enabled/disabled).

  • Set to true or enabled to allow that mob type to receive random names when born
  • Set to false or disabled to prevent naming for that mob type

For example, you might disable horse naming but keep wolf naming active.

Save and Reload

Save the config file, then reload your world or restart your game client. Changes take effect immediately on the next mob birth.

Verify Changes

Breed two mobs of your chosen type. If configured correctly, babies will either receive names (visible in their nametag) or spawn unnamed, depending on your settings.
