Using Persistent Search to Speed Up Building with Modded Blocks

Why this matters for modded play

With many mods installed, the creative inventory is huge and finding the right block by scrolling is slow. Searching is faster, but vanilla wipes your query constantly. This mod removes that friction by restoring your last search whenever you reopen the search tab.

A repeatable building routine

1. Decide on the block family or mod you are building with and type a matching search term.

2. Pull stacks from the filtered results into your hotbar.

3. Close the inventory, place your blocks, and reopen it when you need more.

4. The search tab still shows your term, so the same filtered list is ready instantly.

Tips for modded inventories

  • Search by a mod's namespace or a distinctive part of the block name to narrow a large mod's items quickly.
  • If you switch between two block families, just retype the new term once — the mod remembers the most recent one.
  • Combine this with the other creative tabs: grab a tool from Tools, then jump back to search and your filter is still there.

What it does not do

It does not add favourites, sorting, or new search syntax. It only preserves and restores the term you last typed, which is exactly what saves time during long builds.
