Performance Booster Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the performance HUD?
Press P (default keybind) to toggle the performance statistics overlay on and off. You can customize this keybind in the mod's settings if needed.
What does the entity count number mean?
Entity count shows how many living creatures, items, and other objects are currently loaded in your world. High entity counts can cause lag, so if this number is very high, consider reducing mobs or clearing item buildup.
Should I enable performance mode?
Enable performance mode (default keybind O) if you're experiencing lag or low FPS. It applies optimization tweaks like particle limits that reduce visual effects but improve frame rate.
Why is my RAM usage so high?
High RAM usage is normal in Minecraft and doesn't always mean lag—check your FPS and frame time instead. If you're running out of memory, try reducing render distance or allocating more RAM to Minecraft.
Can I see my CPU temperature in the HUD?
Yes, CPU temperature appears in the HUD when your system supports it. Not all computers expose this data, so it may not display on every setup.
What's the difference between FPS and frame time?
FPS shows how many frames render per second (higher is better), while frame time shows how many milliseconds each frame takes (lower is better). Both tell you the same thing in different ways.
Does performance mode affect gameplay or visuals?
Performance mode primarily limits particles and applies other tweaks to reduce strain on your system. You may notice fewer visual effects like explosions or magic, but core gameplay remains unchanged.
Why does my ping show in single-player?
Ping only displays when you're playing on a multiplayer server. In single-player worlds, the ping section won't appear or will show zero latency.
Can I move the HUD to a different corner of the screen?
Yes, you can customize the HUD position through the mod's configuration settings. Check the keybind customization guide for details on adjusting the overlay location.
Does this mod work with other performance mods?
Performance Booster Mod is designed to work alongside other optimization mods, but conflicts can occur if multiple mods modify the same systems. Test your mod combination and disable conflicting tweaks if needed.
