Enable Performance Mode to Stop Lag During Intense Gameplay

Activate Performance Mode

When your game starts stuttering or slowing down during busy moments—like when you're near many mobs, particles, or complex builds—Performance Mode can help stabilize your frame rate.

To turn it on:

1. Press O (default key) while in-game

2. Watch the stats screen in the top right to confirm the mode is active

3. Your graphics settings will immediately adjust to reduce the load

What Changes When It's On

Performance Mode automatically:

• Caps active particles at a lower limit to reduce visual clutter
• Reduces how far your game renders chunks around you
• Lowers the simulation distance so fewer blocks update at once
• Disables ambient occlusion and entity shadows

Turn It Off When You're Done

Press O again to disable Performance Mode. Your original graphics settings restore automatically—nothing is permanently saved to your options file, so you can toggle it freely without worry.

Customize the Hotkey

If O conflicts with another mod or your preferences, open your Controls menu and rebind the Performance Mode key to whatever suits you.
