Set Up Auto-Fertilization with Waterlogged Chests

Waterlogging Your Chest

To enable automatic fertilization, you need to waterlog the chest that collects your crops. This is done using water blocks—place water so it flows over or occupies the same space as your chest.

How It Works

When a chest is waterlogged, the auto harvest system treats it as a fertilization setup. Crops in the 9×9 area will receive continuous growth boosts, allowing them to mature faster than normal.

Setup Steps

1. Place your chest and item frame with hoe as normal

2. Use water (bucket or flowing water) to waterlog the chest

3. The water will occupy the chest block without preventing item storage

4. Crops will now grow and be harvested more rapidly

Note

Make sure your farm is positioned so water doesn't wash away seeds or interfere with your crop layout. Waterlogging is purely for the chest block itself.
