How do I know when my stamina is running out?
Watch the stamina meter displayed above your hotbar—it shows your current energy as a bar or icon depending on your HUD settings. When it gets low, your character moves slower and actions cost more, so find a safe spot to stand still and let it recharge.
Why does my maximum stamina keep dropping?
Your max stamina is reduced by low hunger, carrying heavy items, or built-up fatigue from staying exhausted too long. Eat food to restore hunger, drop heavy gear, or sleep in a bed to cure fatigue and restore your full capacity.
Can I climb ladders without losing stamina?
Yes—hold Shift while climbing to move slowly upward without draining any energy. This is useful for resting mid-climb or conserving stamina in dangerous situations.
What's the difference between fatigue and low stamina?
Low stamina is your current energy bar running empty; fatigue is a penalty that builds up when you stay exhausted and permanently lowers your maximum stamina cap until cured. Sleep in a bed or eat special food items to remove fatigue and restore your max capacity.
How do I reduce how much stamina mining costs?
Open the in-game settings menu and adjust the mining drain cost in the common.toml config, or reduce the weight of your pickaxe and armor in lists.toml to lower overall action costs. You can also take breaks between mining sessions to let stamina recharge naturally.
Does eating bad food hurt my stamina?
Yes—certain food items apply a lingering poison penalty that locks away a portion of your stamina bar until the effect wears off. Stick to better food sources or use the settings menu to adjust which foods trigger penalties.
Why am I so slow even when my stamina bar is full?
Heavy inventory items increase your weight and lower your maximum stamina, making you move slower overall. Drop some items or adjust item weights in the lists.toml config to lighten your load.
Can I turn off stamina drain for specific actions?
Yes—open config/peak_stamina/common.toml to adjust drain costs for sprinting, jumping, attacking, mining, swimming, and climbing. You can set any action's cost to zero to disable stamina drain for that activity.
