How to Set Datapack Load Order in Paxi
The Load Order File
Paxi reads datapack_load_order.json from the paxi config folder. This file controls the sequence in which your global datapacks are applied. Open it in a plain text editor and list your datapack names as JSON entries, matching the folder or zip filenames exactly.
Why Order Matters
When two datapacks modify the same function, tag, or loot table, the later-loaded pack typically overrides the earlier one. If you want pack A's changes to take priority over pack B's, place A after B in the order. This is the main reason to edit the file at all.
Editing Steps
1. Open .minecraft/config/paxi/datapack_load_order.json.
2. Add or reorder the datapack names so the desired winner comes last.
3. Save the file and restart Minecraft.
4. Create a fresh world and run /datapack list to confirm all packs loaded.
Troubleshooting
If a pack is missing from the enabled list, its name in the JSON probably does not match the actual folder or zip name. Fix the spelling and reload. Also make sure the pack has a valid pack.mcmeta, since Paxi cannot load a pack the game itself rejects.
