How to Make Endermen Passive So They Do Not Attack When You Look at Them

Why Eye Contact Matters

In vanilla Minecraft, looking directly at an enderman's face makes it hostile. This mod removes that trigger, letting you stare at endermen, walk past them, and even stand in the End without being swarmed. This is the setting players want most when they are tired of accidental aggro while mining or building.

Enabling the Passive Behavior

1. Open the mod's config file from your config folder.

2. Find the option controlling aggression or the look-at trigger. It may be labeled passive, angerOnLook, or attackOnLook.

3. Set it so endermen do not become hostile when looked at, then save the file.

4. Restart Minecraft to apply the change.

With this enabled, you can look straight at an enderman and it will ignore you. It will not path toward you or attack unless you strike it first, depending on how the mod handles retaliation.

What Still Makes Them Angry

Passive behavior usually only removes the look trigger. If you hit an enderman, it may still fight back, and other mobs are unaffected. If you want a fully peaceful experience, avoid attacking them and combine this setting with the teleport and block-pickup toggles so endermen become harmless ambient mobs. This makes the End far safer for exploration and pearl farming.
