How to Get Water Ripples, Streaks, and Puddles Working

Water Ripples and Streaks

When rain hits a water surface, the mod spawns ripples that match your resource pack's resolution. When rain strikes solid walls, water streaks run down them. If you see neither, first confirm it is actually raining and that you are near exposed water or a vertical wall. Ripples only appear on water surfaces open to the sky, so a roofed pool will not show them.

Streaks require a solid block face catching the rain, so stand beside a wall during a storm and watch the surface. If your resource pack does not include ripple or streak textures, the mod may fall back to simpler visuals or show nothing. Switching to a pack that supports these effects, or using the default pack, is the quickest fix.

Puddles and Ground Fog

Puddles are shader-compatible and editable through resource packs, so their look depends heavily on your pack and shader setup. If puddles are missing, check whether your shader pack overrides ground wetness. Ground fog forms just above sea level in humid biomes, so look for it in swampy, jungle, or coastal areas rather than dry regions.

To customize any of these, edit the relevant textures in your resource pack. Because ripples scale with pack resolution, higher-resolution packs produce finer ripple detail.
