How to Enable and Configure Particle Rain Effects
Getting the Effects Running
Particle Rain replaces vanilla rain with angled, wind-driven particles, but you need to confirm it is actually active. If you still see flat vanilla rain streaks, the mod's particle layer may be disabled in your video settings or overridden by another weather mod.
Check your video settings first: particles must be set to All or Decreased, not Minimal, or the new effects will not render. If you run shaders, note that some shader packs replace rain rendering entirely and will hide the mod's particles. Disable the shader's own weather option or switch packs to see the mod's effects.
Tuning Intensity and Wind
Wind direction and intensity drive the angle of the falling particles. The mod reads wind values that shift over time, so rain will visibly lean and change direction. If you want calmer or stronger storms, look for the mod's config file in your config folder and adjust the wind and particle density options there. Lower density helps performance on weaker machines; higher density makes storms feel heavier.
Snow behaves differently: flakes rotate as they fall rather than streaking at an angle. If snow looks wrong, verify you are in a snowy biome during snowfall, since the mod swaps particle behavior based on biome and temperature.
