Panda’s Falling Tree’s Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I make trees actually fall with this mod?
Just break the bottom log of a tree like you normally would. If the log and its leaves are recognized as part of the log and leaves block tags, the whole tree collapses automatically instead of leaving floating logs.
Why is my tree not falling when I chop it?
The tree's log or leaves block probably isn't in the log or leaves block tag the mod checks. Add that block to the mod's config so it's recognized, then try again.
Do I need to hold a specific axe for trees to fall?
No special tool is required. The collapse triggers from breaking the log itself, so any method of chopping the base log works.
How do I add modded logs and leaves so they fall too?
Open the mod's config and add the modded log and leaf blocks to the relevant lists. Once they're registered there, trees made from those blocks will collapse like vanilla ones.
How can I tell if a tree will fall before I chop it?
Check whether its log and leaves blocks are part of the log and leaves block tags, or listed in your config. If they are, the tree will collapse; if not, you'll get floating logs.
Does this mod work with trees from other mods?
Yes, as long as the modded log and leaves blocks are included in the log and leaves block tags. If they aren't, you can add them manually through the config.
Will this break vanilla tree behavior or world generation?
No, it keeps vanilla trees intact and only changes what happens when you chop them. Trees still generate and look the same; they just collapse when cut.
Why do some trees still leave floating logs after I chop them?
Those trees use logs or leaves that aren't in the required block tags. Add the missing blocks to the config so the mod treats them as valid tree parts.
Does this mod cause lag on big trees or with many players?
The collapse only triggers when a tree is actually chopped, so it generally has little impact. If you notice lag, it's usually from very large custom trees or many simultaneous collapses rather than the mod running constantly.
Can I turn off tree falling for certain trees or blocks?
Yes, by controlling which blocks are in the log and leaves tags or config lists. Removing a block from those entries stops its trees from collapsing.
