Pale Formations Data Pack FAQ

Structures spawn naturally throughout the Pale Garden biome, but they can be easy to miss among the trees. Look for unusual arrangements of blocks, suspicious gravel patches, or areas that feel deliberately constructed rather than organic—structures are often partially buried or overgrown.

Brush suspicious gravel with a brush to extract items and uncover lore about the structures. Different gravel patches yield different rewards, so it's worth brushing thoroughly around each structure you find.

You need a brush to interact with suspicious gravel; without one, you cannot extract anything from it. Make sure you have a brush in your inventory before exploring.

Structures themselves aren't inherently hostile, but the Pale Garden biome has its own atmosphere and hazards. The mod description hints at exploring "especially at night," suggesting the experience may be more intense or rewarding during nighttime.

There are 12 base structure types, but each can generate with different layouts, orientations, or configurations, creating 26 total unique variations you might encounter. This means structures won't feel repetitive even after finding several.

Structures contain loot that you extract by brushing suspicious gravel rather than opening chests. The rewards come from the brushing mechanic itself, which is tied to the structure's theme and purpose.

As a data pack, Pale Formations should be compatible with most other mods and data packs, but conflicts can occur if multiple mods heavily modify the Pale Garden biome or structure generation. Test it in your world to be sure.

The mod works in both Survival and Creative modes, though Survival is recommended for the full experience of exploration and discovery. Creative mode is useful for studying structure layouts or planning builds.

Structures only generate in newly explored chunks after you install the data pack. Chunks that were already generated before adding the mod will not have structures unless you delete and regenerate them.

Bring a brush, light sources, and basic survival gear—the mod rewards exploration but doesn't require special equipment beyond what you'd normally carry. Having a brush is essential; everything else depends on your comfort level with the Pale Garden biome.
