Remove the Water Overlay and Restore Normal Vision Underwater

Disable Water Distortion Effects

When swimming, Minecraft applies a wavy overlay and reduces your field of view. Overlay Tweaks lets you remove these effects for clearer underwater exploration.

Steps

1. Open your mod configuration menu (usually accessed via the mods screen or a dedicated config key)

2. Navigate to the HUD Tweaks or Water Effects section

3. Look for the option to remove water overlay or disable water distortion

4. Toggle this setting to OFF or disabled

5. If available, also disable the underwater FOV change option to maintain your normal field of view while submerged

6. Save your configuration and return to your world

Result

You'll now see the underwater environment clearly without the wavy visual effect. Your field of view will remain constant whether you're above or below the surface, making it easier to navigate, build, and search for resources underwater.
