Overlay Tweaks Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Where do I configure Overlay Tweaks settings?
Open your mod configuration menu (usually accessible from the main menu or pause screen) and look for Overlay Tweaks. Settings are organized by category: Container, Hand View, HUD, Effects, and Items. Changes apply immediately without restarting.
How do I turn off the water overlay completely?
Go to HUD Tweaks in the config and disable the water overlay option. You can also separately toggle the underwater FOV change if you want to keep one but not the other.
Can I make the fire overlay less distracting?
Yes—in the HUD Tweaks section, you can adjust both the opacity (transparency) and height of the fire overlay to suit your preference.
Why is my hand still visible when I hide the HUD?
Check your Hand View settings; there's an option to keep the hand visible even when the HUD is hidden. Disable this if you want the hand to disappear with the rest of the UI.
How do I add a cooldown indicator to my shield?
In the Item Enhancements section, enable the colored shield cooldown indicator option. The indicator will display on your shield during cooldown with a color you can customize.
Can I disable hand sway without affecting anything else?
Yes—the Hand View Customization section has a dedicated option to disable hand sway independently from other hand settings.
What does the vignette darkness setting do?
The vignette is the darkening around screen edges that normally appears in certain situations. You can set it to a constant custom darkness value instead of letting it change dynamically.
Can I adjust the pumpkin overlay when wearing a pumpkin on my head?
Yes—in Effect Overlays, you can modify the pumpkin overlay's opacity and scale to make it less or more visible.
Does this mod affect container (chest, furnace, etc.) appearance?
Yes—Container Adjustments lets you customize the background and texture opacity of container GUIs for a cleaner or more transparent look.
Will Overlay Tweaks conflict with other HUD or GUI mods?
Overlay Tweaks is designed to be lightweight and compatible with most mods, but if you're using multiple mods that heavily modify the same overlays or HUD elements, test them together to check for conflicts.
