How to Get Better Loot from Overhauled Village Chests

Understand the Loot Tables

The mod is built for compatibility: most chests use vanilla loot tables, so they behave the way you'd expect from normal villages and outposts. On top of that, some structures use custom loot tables that add extra items such as food and armor. That means the same chest type can give different results depending on which structure variant it belongs to.

Practical Looting Tips

  • Search every building, not just the obvious ones. Custom loot is often placed in less prominent chests.
  • Check outposts as well as villages — both structure types can carry the extra loot.
  • Because vanilla loot tables are used for most containers, mods that change vanilla loot will also affect these structures, so your loot experience stays consistent with the rest of your world.

Don't Break the Structures

If you want to keep looting the same area, avoid destroying chests or the blocks around them until you've emptied them. Some containers are tucked into corners or under stairs, so sweep each room carefully before moving on. Bringing a few empty shulker boxes or a donkey with chests helps when you're clearing several structures in one run.
