Finding Specific Terrain Types (Deserts, Tundra, Caves)
Biome Distribution Across the Map
Overgrown Alpine Heights rebalances biome sizes so neither mod dominates. This means you won't find entire continents of one mod's terrain—instead, biomes cluster in regions and transition naturally.
Locating Desert and Canyon Terrain
Desert biomes from both mods generate alongside canyons and shrublands. Travel toward warm climate regions (typically south in most Minecraft worlds). Look for sandy terrain mixing with rocky formations. These areas often border each other rather than appearing in isolation.
Finding Cold Biomes
Tundra and cold shrubland biomes spawn in snowy regions. Head toward areas with ice and snow generation. You'll notice ice marshes and bog biomes blending with traditional snowy taiga landscapes, creating hybrid frozen terrain.
Underground Cave Systems
For specialized cave biomes like inferno and mantle caves, descend to lower Y-levels. These deep biomes generate together, so exploring a single deep cave system may reveal multiple unique underground environments stacked vertically.
