Building a Base in Balanced Terrain

Choosing Your Location

Since biomes are rebalanced and generate side by side, you have more terrain variety within walking distance. Scout an area where multiple biome types meet—this gives you access to different resources and aesthetics without traveling excessively.

Leveraging Mixed Biome Borders

Build near biome transitions (like where desert meets shrubland, or where tundra meets ice marsh). These border zones offer visual interest and let you incorporate multiple landscape styles into your base design. You'll have access to resources from both biome types nearby.

Underground Base Considerations

If planning an underground base, explore the cave system first. Since inferno and mantle cave biomes can generate together, you might find unique block types and terrain features from both mods in the same cave network. This creates opportunities for themed underground builds that showcase both mods' aesthetics.

Resource Gathering

Mixed biome regions mean you won't need to travel as far for diverse materials. Different biomes from CliffTree and Terralith typically feature distinct block palettes, so proximity to multiple biome types simplifies resource collection.
