How to Tell How Much Health and Armor You Actually Have With Overflowing Bars

The problem the mod solves

With very high health or armor values, vanilla-style bars either overflow, change color confusingly, or force you to count icons. Overflowing Bars avoids all of that by stacking layers and printing a small number beside the bar that tells you how many layers are stacked on top. That number, not the color, is your reliable readout.

Reading your true totals

  • Health: the base layer uses the normal vanilla heart color. Every layer stacked above it is orange. The side number is the count of stacked layers, so your real total is the base plus those extra layers.
  • Armor: the base layer is the vanilla armor color, and stacked layers are light blue. Only the icons actually needed are drawn, so a short bar with a number can still mean a large total.
  • Toughness: shown separately just above the food bar, stacking the same way as armor, and movable to the left if you want it elsewhere.

Using it in practice

When you swap gear, drink a buff, or take a hit that changes your maximums, glance at the side number rather than trying to interpret the color. Orange always means extra health layers, light blue always means extra armor layers, and the absence of a number means you are still within vanilla range. This keeps your read fast and consistent no matter how high your stats climb.
