Ore Visible Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to enable the resource pack after installing it?
Yes, you must activate it in your Resource Packs menu. Open Settings > Resource Packs, find Ore Visible in the Available list, and move it to Active. Make sure it's positioned above any conflicting packs that also modify ore textures.
Why do ores still look dark even with the pack installed?
Check that the resource pack is actually enabled in your Resource Packs menu—it won't apply if it's only in your folder. If it's enabled, try reloading your world or restarting the game, as texture changes sometimes need a refresh to display.
Can I use this with other resource packs?
Yes, but pack order matters. Place Ore Visible above other packs in your Resource Packs list so its ore textures take priority. If another pack also modifies ores, there may be conflicts—test which order works best for you.
Does this work in all lighting conditions?
The pack works best in caves and dark areas where ore visibility is the biggest problem. In well-lit areas or on the surface, the enhanced textures are still visible but less dramatic since normal lighting already makes ores easier to spot.
Will this affect my FPS or performance?
Resource packs have minimal performance impact since they only change textures, not game logic. You may see a tiny difference on very low-end systems, but most players notice no FPS change at all.
Do the ore textures look natural or cartoonish?
The pack uses brighter, more saturated colors and clearer details to make ores stand out, so they're more stylized than vanilla. If you prefer a subtle enhancement over dramatic changes, test it in a cave first to see if the aesthetic matches your preference.
Does this work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use it on any server without permission or installation on the server itself. Other players won't see your enhanced ore textures unless they install the pack too.
Can I customize which ores are highlighted?
The resource pack applies to all ores uniformly. If you want to highlight only specific ores, you'd need to edit the pack's texture files yourself or look for an alternative pack designed with selective highlighting.
Does this pack work with cave biome mods or custom ore mods?
It works with vanilla ores reliably. Custom ores from other mods may not be highlighted unless the resource pack includes textures for them—check the pack's documentation or test in your modded world.
How do I uninstall or disable the resource pack?
Go to Settings > Resource Packs, find Ore Visible in the Active list, and move it back to Available. You can also delete the pack file from your resourcepacks folder, but disabling it first is safer.
