Control which blocks break with vein mining
Understanding vein boundaries
The data pack automatically detects which ore blocks belong to the same vein based on proximity and connection.
1. Only ore blocks of the same type break together — mining one iron ore won't break copper ore nearby
2. Ore must be physically adjacent (touching) to be part of the same vein
3. If two ore clusters of the same type are separated by stone or air, they're treated as separate veins
4. Breaking a block in one cluster only affects that connected group
Practical mining strategy
If you want to break only part of a large vein, position yourself carefully and break a block on the outer edge of the section you want to harvest. The cascade will only affect blocks connected to your initial break point. This gives you fine control over how much ore you gather at once, useful when you want to leave some ore for later or manage your inventory space.
