Using Fortune and Silk Touch with Ore Harvester

Enchantments Apply to Every Block

When Ore Harvester breaks a whole cluster, your pickaxe's enchantments are applied to each block in the chain individually — not just the one you swung at. This means:

• Fortune increases the drops from every ore block in the cluster, so a single crouch-mine can yield a large amount of ore.
• Silk Touch causes every block in the cluster to drop as the ore block itself, letting you collect the raw blocks for later processing or decoration.

Choosing the Right Pickaxe

Because enchantments affect the entire chain, the value of a good pickaxe is multiplied. A Fortune pickaxe turns one cluster into a much bigger payout than mining each block separately would with the same enchantment, since you are effectively rolling the Fortune bonus on every block at once.

A Silk Touch pickaxe is useful when you want to relocate ore blocks, build with them, or process them elsewhere. Note that Silk Touch and Fortune cannot be on the same pickaxe, so decide based on whether you want raw blocks or maximized drops.

Without any enchantment, the cluster still breaks and drops normally — enchantments simply scale the reward. Always crouch when you want the chain effect; otherwise you mine one block at a time as usual.
