Options Profiles Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Where do my profiles get saved?
Profiles are automatically saved in a folder called "options-profiles" inside your .minecraft directory. You can navigate there to back up or manually manage your profile files if needed.
Can I use this mod with Sodium?
The mod is compatible with Sodium, but changing video settings through Options Profiles while Sodium is installed will not work. You can still save and load other settings like controls, audio, and gameplay options.
How do I create my first profile?
Open the mod's menu in-game, adjust your options to how you want them, then use the "Save Current Options" button to create a new profile. You'll be prompted to name it.
Can I rename a profile after I create it?
Yes, use the "Edit Profiles Names" option in the mod menu to rename any existing profile without losing its settings.
What happens if I delete a profile?
The profile and all its saved settings are permanently removed. Use the "Delete Profiles" option and confirm which profile you want to remove.
How do I switch between profiles quickly?
Open the mod menu and select the profile you want from the "Profiles List," then use the "Load Profiles" button to apply all its settings instantly.
Do profiles save my video settings?
Profiles save most settings, but if you're using Sodium, video setting changes won't be saved or loaded properly—you'll need to adjust those manually.
Can I have multiple profiles for different playstyles?
Yes, you can create as many profiles as you want and switch between them anytime. This is useful for having separate settings for PvP, creative building, or streaming.
Will this mod affect my game performance?
The mod has minimal performance impact since it only manages your options files. Loading and saving profiles is instant.
What settings does a profile actually save?
Profiles save your options.txt file, which includes controls, audio levels, difficulty, chat settings, and most gameplay options—but not video settings if Sodium is installed.
