Using OptiGUI Packs on a Server or With Other Mods
OptiGUI is a client-side mod, which means the server never needs it and other players will not see your custom menus. That makes it safe to use almost anywhere, but a few situations need care.
On Multiplayer Servers
- Install and enable your GUI pack as normal. The server does not check or require it.
- Your menus, inventory, and HUD are only changed on your screen. Other players see vanilla or their own packs.
- If a server enforces a resource pack, it may override yours. Put your GUI pack above the server pack in the resource pack list to keep your look.
Alongside Other Mods
- Mods that add their own GUIs (new containers, machines, menus) will only be restyled if your pack includes textures for those screens. A vanilla-only GUI pack will not touch them.
- If two packs edit the same screen, the higher one in the list wins. Reorder to control which look you get.
- HUD mods and GUI packs can overlap. Disable one to find out which is drawing a texture you dislike.
Because everything is client-side, you can freely swap packs between worlds without affecting saves or servers.
