How to Apply a Custom GUI Resource Pack with OptiGUI

OptiGUI works by reading GUI textures out of resource packs, so the first thing you need is a pack that actually contains custom container or HUD art. Packs built for OptiFine's custom GUI feature usually work as-is, and OptiGUI also reads its own extended format.

Enabling the Pack

1. Drop the resource pack .zip into your resourcepacks folder.

2. Open Options → Resource Packs and move the pack from *Available* to *Selected*.

3. Make sure it sits above any pack that also edits vanilla GUI textures, otherwise the lower pack wins and you will still see default menus.

4. Click Done and open a chest, furnace, or your inventory to confirm the new look.

If Nothing Changes

  • Check the pack is actually a GUI pack and not just a texture pack for blocks or items.
  • Some packs ship separate files for inventory, containers, and HUD. If only one screen changed, the pack may only cover that screen.
  • Toggle the pack off and on again after adding it, so the game reloads the GUI atlas.

OptiGUI is client-side, so you can use these packs on any server without the server needing the mod.
