How do I know OptiFabric is actually working?
Launch the game with Fabric and check the main menu or the mods list for OptiFine's own options button, which appears when OptiFabric has successfully loaded OptiFine. If you see the OptiFine settings screen and the zoom key works in-game, it's running.
Why does my game crash when I add OptiFabric to my modpack?
OptiFabric conflicts with other mods that patch the same rendering or entity code, most commonly Sodium, Iris, and other performance mods. Remove or replace the conflicting mods, since OptiFine and those alternatives cannot run together.
Can I use shaders with OptiFabric on Fabric?
Yes, OptiFabric loads OptiFine's shader engine, so you enable shaders through the OptiFine video settings menu and drop shader packs into the shaderpacks folder. Make sure no separate shader mod like Iris is installed alongside it.
How do I zoom in with OptiFabric?
OptiFine's zoom is bound to a key you can set in the controls menu, and holding it zooms the camera while you look around. If zoom doesn't work, OptiFine likely didn't load correctly through OptiFabric.
How do I turn on Fullbright with OptiFabric?
Fullbright is controlled through OptiFine's settings, either as a brightness option or via a keybind depending on your setup. You can also raise the gamma in OptiFine's video settings to brighten dark areas.
Why aren't my connected textures or custom mob textures showing up?
Connected textures and custom entity models require the resource pack to include the OptiFine-format files and for those features to be enabled in OptiFine's settings. Check that the pack is selected and that Connected Textures and Custom Entity Models are turned on.
Does OptiFabric work with Sodium?
No, OptiFabric and Sodium are not compatible because they both overhaul rendering in conflicting ways. You have to choose one; if you want OptiFine features like shaders and connected textures, use OptiFabric instead of Sodium.
My FPS got worse after installing OptiFabric, what's wrong?
OptiFine's settings may be configured for quality rather than performance, so lower options like render distance, smooth lighting, and shader settings in the OptiFine menu. Also confirm no conflicting performance mod is fighting it for control of rendering.
Can I run OptiFabric on a server or with server-side mods?
OptiFabric is a client-side mod, so it only affects your own game and doesn't need to be on the server. Server-side mods are fine as long as they don't require a conflicting client rendering mod.
Which Minecraft and Fabric versions does OptiFabric need?
