How to Claim Chunks and Protect Your Base

Making a Claim

Open the claims menu (keybind or the mod's claim command). You will see a chunk grid, often overlaid on your map if you use Xaero's Minimap or World Map. Stand in the chunk you want and claim it, or click the chunk directly in the map-based interface. Each claim consumes claim power, a budget the server assigns to you — you cannot claim unlimited land.

Understanding Claim Power

Your available claim power is shown in the menu. If claiming fails, you have likely hit your limit. Server admins can grant extra claim power through permission mods like LuckPerms or FTB Ranks, so ask if you need more. Unclaiming a chunk refunds the power, so clean up old claims you no longer need.

Permissions Inside Claims

By default, only you (and your party, if sharing is enabled) can build, break, and use containers in your claims. The menu lets you fine-tune this: you can allow specific players, allow everyone to interact with certain things, or keep everything locked down. If a visitor reports they cannot open a door or chest, check your per-claim permission settings rather than assuming the mod is broken. Claims also protect against explosions and other players' block placement depending on server configuration.
