Open Parties and Claims Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the party and claims menu?
Press the mod's menu keybind (check your Controls settings, since it may not be bound by default) to open the in-game menu where you create parties, claim chunks, and change settings. You can also run the mod's party and claim commands from chat if you prefer.
How do I claim a chunk?
Stand in the chunk you want and use the claim action from the in-game menu or the claim command. Claims cost claim power, which is based on your party's total claim limit, so you can only hold as many chunks as your power allows.
Why can't I claim any more chunks?
You've hit your claim power limit, which is determined by your party's settings and any bonuses from server config or permission mods. Free up power by unclaiming chunks you don't need, or ask the server owner to raise the limit.
How do I invite someone to my party?
Open the party menu and invite the player by name, or use the party invite command with their username. They'll need to accept the invite before they join and share your claims and permissions.
Can other players break blocks in my claimed chunks?
No, by default claimed chunks block outsiders from breaking, placing, and interacting. Party members can act in your claims based on the permissions your party has set, so check your party's permission settings if a member can't build.
How do I forceload a chunk so my farm keeps running?
Select a chunk you've already claimed and use the forceload option in the menu or the forceload command. Forceloaded chunks stay loaded even when you're offline, but they count against your forceload limit, so you can only keep a few active at once.
Why isn't my forceload working when I log off?
The chunk must be claimed before it can be forceloaded, and you may have hit your forceload limit. Also check that the server hasn't disabled forceloading or restricted it to certain players via permissions.
Do my claims show up on Xaero's map?
Yes, the mod integrates with Xaero's Minimap and World Map so your claims and party claims appear directly on the map. If they aren't showing, make sure the integration is enabled in the mod's settings and that you're using a compatible version of Xaero's mods.
How do I see who owns a chunk or unclaim it?
Open the claims view in the in-game menu or on the map to see which chunks are claimed and by whom. From there you can select a chunk you own and unclaim it, which frees up claim power for other chunks.
Does this mod hurt server performance?
Claim and party tracking is lightweight, but forceloaded chunks keep their farms and machines running, which can add up if many players forceload heavily. Server owners can cap forceloads and claim limits to keep performance in check.
